What a heart-warming story, one that gives me chills as I read it, yet evokes such a comfortable feeling to have shared a personal moment with the author. You absolutely made my day, week, maybe year. Hats off, and glasses raised high to you, Sir.

Date: 06/11/21 12:39 Re: The Last Train Home Author: tomstp Good story. And, I am very glad he mentioned Gene Allen. A fine, very friendly man who loved live steam. Gene built about a dozen 2-6-0's and 4-6-0 and 4-4-0 engines at very reasonable prices.. He died a few years ago and I miss him terribly. But, I am not alone.
