Good story.  And, I am very glad he mentioned Gene Allen.  A fine, very friendly man who loved live steam.  Gene built about a dozen 2-6-0's and 4-6-0 and 4-4-0 engines at very reasonable prices..  He died a few years ago and I miss him terribly.  But, I am not alone.
