Model Railroading > HO FM H-16-66Date: 05/03/22 18:51 HO FM H-16-66 Author: bilevel400 Greetings list members;
Aside from “The Car Works” Lowey styled H-16-66 (impossible to find), can anyone tell me if a model of this locomotive? Possibly a 3D printed example? You can get a model of everything from the Ingalls Shipbuilding one off 4-S to a model of a PRR P-5A in ( you’ve got to be kidding me), GN Empire Builder colors-! You can purchase what-? Five or six different builders of SD40-2’s, about 50 releases of F7A’s through the years, and one release of the least common version of an H-16-66?? What’s up with that? Just asking. Check your PMs as I found a possible resource in your quest. -Sean Date: 05/04/22 12:30 Re: HO FM H-16-66 Author: CPR_4000 I'd think an H24-66 would be a better starting point for kitbashing the H16-66 than the four-motor version. IIRC the difference in length was due to the shorter, 8 cylinder 1600 hp engine vs. 12 cylinders in the H24.
Date: 05/04/22 12:59 Re: HO FM H-16-66 Author: DocJohn According to https://www.american-rails.com/24L730.html, the H24-66 was 66 feet in lenth. The same website listed the length of the H16-44 as 54 feet, and the H16-66 as slightly longer. I have both the H16-44 and H24-66 on my HO-gauge model RR. The H24-66 is over an inch longer than the H16-44.
