Livin’ Large in the Piney Woods

Our annual meet just wrapped up in East Texas

pic 1 this Southern Rwy pacific ran burned a lot of fuel with  three engineers swapping turns for days 

pic 2  ATSF FT A-B has John Deere diesel inside the B for power

pic 3. My Alcos hold for a beastly coal burning pacific

Wednesday and Thursday we played switching games, with car cards for forwarding


pic 4.   Coal burning 0-6-0 was the yard goat for two days

That Thomas pix should have been at the top that one made my day used to operate the one at Medford OR foy many years. Loved giving young childern rides, youngest was around six months being held by a five year old brother. Cars have wood sided somewhat like gondolas and in all the years running it never had one injury of any kind.

Nice!  From a (retired) forester's standpoint, looks like The Piney Woods will soon be in need of thinning!  Have fun!

Its not that bad, yes it's hot and humid but we are used to it.

Plus, the benefits of living here far outweigh the hot summers.
