Horn types are usually spelled out in the manual.   But with Broadway who knows what they do.     With Soundtraxx they list the number of trumpets and manufacturer and even the style of horn.     Once you learn to identify the horns on a loco you can then set your model to that horn.     For instance on SP they used a Nathan P3 on almost everything.    Santa Fe used a Leslie 3 chime on most freight power and especially latter on most passenger units had Leslie 5 chimes( or trumpets).    Amtrak uses a  Nathan 5 chime identified as K5LA, the K line is designed to carry the horn sound farther because of the higher passenger train speeds, 5 is for the number of trumpets/chimes and L is for a low profile mounting bracket to meet clearance restrictions in some areas, the A suffix is for Amtrak as it is a special sub specifitcation for the notes of the trumpets.

You can read the names of horn types used by many present and past railroads at https://soundtraxx.com/reference/locomotive-airhorn-usage/
