This was unexpected.
Welcome additions for the Metra modelers!

Anything from Atlas or Kato in Ho is unexpected. Nice release for commuter fans. These will be nice looking cars and the Milwaukee units is very striking to me.

How close are the Metra cars to the ones Caltrain has?  Caltrain also has MP36s too?

Not my cup of tea but I can see how this will sell a lot of "train sets" for the Christmas tree, not to mention freight modelers who have a soft spot for their local commuters.

Close, enough to have in a second run?  VRE too?..

Nice, no more having to hunt for a True-Line Trains version if you really want one.  Metrolink should be popular, as one of only 2 locomotive types (along with the F125) that they currently use.

As for Caltrain, if Atlas does a version of theirs - it would be better paired with Bombardier cars (either their original fleet or mixed with ex-Metrolink coaches) for a typical 'Baby Bullet' trainset.  Athearn has done them, maybe Rapido will do Caltrain Bombs some time in the future?

Yup, I am mostly freight, but the newer Metra cars spark an interest!  I have a small train of the old Kato HO equipment, and these might be a welcome addition/replacement.

Here's hoping the Metrolink units do not come with the strobe light on the back...
