New Rapido SP PA2 With Oakland - Sacramento Local

About the only place SP used these locomotives alone was on the Oakland-Sacramento locals like the Senator.
Here is such a depiction with a few extra cars working upgrade at the Randall Museum model railroad in San Francisco.
Can't beat detail or accurate sound on these new Rapido locomotives.

I thought the PA's worked about every train out of San Francisco/Oakland.  They worked over Donner Summit and up to Portland.  I was unaware they worked the short haul trains too.  Looks like a nice train, thanks for posting.

GUYS...The SP used the PA's on the Sacramento to Oakland with one a unit to three cars on the locals as single units,..

In the long ago TRAINS Magazine issue "Who Shot the Passenger Train?" there was a photo of a PA and one heavyweight coach on a local out of Sacramento to somewhere nearby.
It was to illustrate that the ICC and PUC kept many trains on long after the passengers had left and that if there was a need for a one-car train an RDC could have been used.
