Model Railroading > Graffiti Warning ~ Three more for the manifest fleetDate: 09/27/22 00:02 Graffiti Warning ~ Three more for the manifest fleet Author: MrMRL Started playing around with a bunch of Circus City Decals I recently acquired for weathering and graffiti purposes. First three examples were wrapped up earlier on Monday with models I've had (in some cases) 15-20 years now!
1.) Eel River Models 62' Beer service box car (kit) 2.) 2004 release Athearn Genesis 60' Gunderson boxcar 3.) Athearn RTR 33,900 gal. LPG tanker All three models are blemish free (for now) on the other sides. Good models of the real world. Date: 09/28/22 13:13 Re: Graffiti Warning ~ Three more for the manifest fleet Author: Frisco1522 When did all this trespassing, vandalism and graffiti stuff start happening? 70s maybe?
Where do the tagging scumbags get all that paint and how do they pay for it? Date: 09/28/22 14:08 Re: Graffiti Warning ~ Three more for the manifest fleet Author: toledopatch Frisco1522 Wrote:

I remember heavy graffiti on the New York City subways during the 1970s, but it really didn't become endemic on the major railroads until the late 1990s, when the Internet started giving graffiti criminals a means to communicate with each other worldwide. I do recall seeing relatively minor graffiti earlier than that, of course, and it really got started (and is worst today) in southern California. There is tons of graffiti in Europe, Australia and Africa too. |
