Helper Service on the SWP and an OOPS
Author: railstiesballast

By 1951 my SWP was taking delivery of EMD F3s and Alco RS-3s so fans went out of good days to record the last of steam.
The helper grade out of Paseo was a favorite haunt.  Here the 1603 blasts out of town and then up the grade toward Carbon Jct., shoving on one of the newer Steel Cabooses.
I tried to paint in the smoke, but I'm not satisfied yet.
OOPS?
The third photo is one where I carefully placed era appropriate cars in the depot parking lot and forgot about the Amtrak sign.
(Actually it is in the first photo too, but Photoshopped out and hidden in smoke.
As soon as I take a few more pictures I'll box it back up and resume my 1992 era operations.
Thanks for looking.

Remember.........even Jordan missed a shot once in a while. I always enjoy the pics of your beautiful SWP.

Very nice railroad. The appearance of steam makes it look even better!
