Sopoby heatseal electrical connectors
Author: DocJohn

Anyone have experience with the Sopoby heatseal electrical connectors (see, for example, https://www.amazon.com/Connectors-Sopoby-Electrical-Waterproof-Assorted/dp/B01H8WAYSK?ref_=ast_sto_dp)?

Thank you,

John

There's a guy on YouTube that swears these are the only way to repair wiring on a bulldozer.
Your mileage may vary.

Seems to get the propper solder contact on wire would take too much heat and destroy ever what the covering material is made of. In other words a cold solder joint. Why not just use heat shrink instead as then wire is heated enought to bond with the solder.

Supposedly a low temp solder matched to the heat shrink characteristics. Granted that low temp solder would be effected by too much current going through it, but that's the attraction behind the design.
