Model Railroading > Layout milestonesDate: 01/28/23 15:40 Layout milestones Author: Jeff_Johnston Building a layout involves a variety of milestones, some more significant than the others. Construction of the trackwork parts of the layout is almost finished for now. We're at the point where our car patterns used for helping plan industrial and passing siding capacities, paper switch templates and curve templates are being put aside for storage or disposal. For us, it's a good feeling.

I spaced the circles at the ends in the same positioning as a Kadee coupler. That way I could tape several together, in real-world coupled length for the mainly 40-foot cars we use, to see what would fit a given siding or industry. Helped keep me honest!
