Model Railroading > American Hardware SupplyDate: 05/22/23 08:41 American Hardware Supply Author: Jimmies I had always been interested in this kit from Walther's, but had never bought it. Then I stumbled across it for a real nice price at the train show in Woodstock, Ontario back in January. I don't actually have a place for it on the layout, but bought it anyway. I kind of wish I had two of these kits so I could bash them together to make the building larger.
I've enlarged the one loading door, shifted and extended the loading dock, painted and weathered the building, and blanked out a bunch of windows. The windows at the far right in the first photo are filled in with concrete patch. Here's just a couple of views of my American Hardware Supply as what is more or less a small diorama. And the window mullions don't look oversize as they often do with Walthers Industrial buildings!

You just need to look a little closer. Jim Date: 05/22/23 12:59 Re: American Hardware Supply Author: Jimmies wabash2800 Wrote:

I'm not sure just now, but I think that they're the same oversize that you refer to as they usually are. Jim Date: 05/22/23 15:52 Re: American Hardware Supply Author: atx_railfan I've got this kit in N Scale and haven't done anything with it since I've been doing more HO lately. This is inspiring me to build a little diorama or something. Great work.
