Model Railroading > The Grand Road Still Hauling CoalDate: 09/08/23 16:45 The Grand Road Still Hauling Coal Author: grandroad I've spent my working life in the aluminum industry. So when I got a chance to buy a bunch of aluminum coal gondolas at a good price I did and got rid of a equal amount of steel Ortner five bay hoppers. The result was the 55 car CEMCPL (Coal Empire Mine to Coors Power Loads) powered by 2x2x1 AC traction motor engines. When I built he Grand Road I worked at Coors Container and the power and steam came from a coal fired power plant, now, I think the power plant burns natural gas. The train in the photos is on a curve above Terror Creek.
Please enjoy. Paul Brennecke Golden, CO ![]() ![]() ![]() Date: 09/08/23 17:41 Re: The Grand Road Still Hauling Coal Author: DynamicBrake Paul,
I must say that the way in which your backdrops blend with the primary scenery is something else! Thanks for sharing your great work. Kent in CArmel Valley Date: 09/08/23 19:24 Re: The Grand Road Still Hauling Coal Author: ghemr Everything in these scenes are top-notch!
