Model Railroading > Is there a resource about 40 foot containersDate: 03/24/24 10:11 Is there a resource about 40 foot containers Author: SimpleMoMike Hello all,
Is there an online or book that is a resource to identify intermodal containers and what year they are appropriate for? For example, I want to make a 1990 intermodal train of 40 foot international containers so I am trying to find out what companies were appropriate for that year. Thanks for any help, Michael Mickens Placerville, CA Date: 03/24/24 10:19 Re: Is there a resource about 40 foot containers Author: railstiesballast Kalmbach published a soft-cover magazine sized book on this a few years ago.
(I borrowed the one I looked at, cannot go get it for reference.) Date: 03/24/24 10:32 Re: Is there a resource about 40 foot containers Author: TCnR There appears to be two books by the same author and publisher.
There's also a discussion group on Groups dot io with good info. There are plenty floating around for free on YouTube.

As someone else suggested, check the videos here on Trainorders and on YouTube to see some ideas for the companies with contianers in the era you model. Nathan |
