Model Railroading > What is the best source for decal paper?Date: 04/19/24 16:52 What is the best source for decal paper? Author: Morpar55 I am getting ready to print up some decals with a laser printer. I will need both clear and white paper, so what is the best source? Amazon seems to have a wide selection, but I have no idea of the thickness and if what they are selling is a good choice for our models. How about the paper from MicroMark? Or any other sources?
Thanks! Posted from Android Chris Clouser Frankfort, IN Date: 04/19/24 19:56 Re: What is the best source for decal paper? Author: Frisco1522 Tango Papa decal paper. Google it, I've used it for years in an ALPS printer. I've also used Micro Scale black paper and printed steam engine decals on it in white or gold after painting and engine. Both are very good.

I have an inkjet and both have worked fine. I think the most important step in making the decals is the 2-3 coats of clearcoat after you print them out. It make or breaks your decals...literally. I just spray mine with rutoleum clear gloss and so far so good.
