Model Railroading > Atlas announced a 2-8-0 in O scaleDate: 04/19/24 17:26 Atlas announced a 2-8-0 in O scale Author: superfleet Atlas now lists an upcoming O scale 2-8-0 in both 2rail and 3rail on their website, can anyone determine the prototype road for this? They are offering it in several railroads including C&NW, UP, WM, to name a few, just wanting to know who's 2-8-0 it is.
Thanks, Dan Date: 04/19/24 18:43 Re: Atlas announced a 2-8-0 in O scale Author: ts1457 superfleet Wrote:

Sorry, I couldn't help myself. I am curious too about what road the model represents if any. Driver diameter and wheelbase would help. If I recall correctly, the IC engine had a 61" diameter driver. I'd say that 57" was more the typically driver for this wheel arrangement. I think if I was trying to produce a generic 2-8-0, I would go with a 57" design. This might be a revised version of the MTH consolidation. Similar to how Scaletrains is releasing their reworked N&W J
