Model Railroading > South Industrial BoulevardDate: 06/17/24 06:34 South Industrial Boulevard Author: Jimmies Not much happening on this board for the past couple of days, so I'm breaking the silence with some views of the South Industrial area of my layout.

In photo #1, how did that truck trailer get on the roof of that building on the left? Date: 06/17/24 07:54 Re: South Industrial Boulevard Author: FiveChime Very nice. Litter adds realism.
Regards, Jim Evans Date: 06/17/24 08:18 Re: South Industrial Boulevard Author: 90mac Really beautiful!
Unbelievable detail! TAH Date: 06/17/24 08:29 Re: South Industrial Boulevard Author: SPDRGWfan Very realistic. But aren't chain link fences made of galvanized still which doesn't rust?

It takes a while but eventually the zinc gives in and the rust begins. Date: 06/17/24 10:11 Re: South Industrial Boulevard Author: Jimmies Nice try, but when the zinc coating fails, which take a few years of weather, rust forms on the steel.
Jim Date: 06/17/24 10:36 Re: South Industrial Boulevard Author: SPDRGWfan Fair enough. I can't remember seeing a rusted chain link fence. I learned something.

Date: 06/17/24 11:13 Re: South Industrial Boulevard Author: Frisco1522 Exceptional work there. And for the record, I have seen rusty chain link fences.
Date: 06/17/24 15:06 Re: South Industrial Boulevard Author: spsunset Trailer on rooftop unloading in pick 2 Awesome scene and detail .

Even when I triple check a scene, I still miss things. Reguardless, your scenes look great. Date: 06/17/24 16:38 Re: South Industrial Boulevard Author: railstiesballast Great work on the mundane aspects of railroading we too often overlook for the 3/4 wedge images of approaching trains.
This shows your railroad at work, thank you for sharing. I have lived across the street from a galvanized roof auto shed for 12 years now. When I first moved in there were a few streaks of rust, now it is about 100% rust. A little voice told me I should take a photo about once a year to see how it changes, but I was not that disciplined. Date: 06/18/24 06:09 Re: South Industrial Boulevard Author: 3rdswitch Just wow.
