Model Railroading > Cheers for Broadway LimitedDate: 11/05/24 18:31 Cheers for Broadway Limited Author: BlackWidow We usually hear about a model railroad manufacturer on this forum when the make a mistake or don't produce what we want. I'm here today to say kind things about Broadway Limited.
I sent in 2-10-0 Paragon 2 and a Big Boy Paragon 3 locomotives in for repair. The 2-10-0 would run at full speed when placed on the track and the Big Boy was a brick and would not respond to anything. It took about 3 months for them to be repaired and returned, but when I read what they did while they were repairing it, I was impressed. Then went way over what they had to do to get these locomotives working again. I have attached pictures of the sheet explaining the repairs they actually performed. It is costly, I think $119 for the 2-10-0 and $149 for the Big Boy, but worth every penny of it to get the overhaul described. Good job Broadway Limited. They have run well for over 2 years now. Repair people have been great and know their job.

The pilot on those locomotives can easily get knocked off. The locomotive ran well for me and was in decent shape as far as I was concerned, so that is why it was suprising to me they found the issues they did and made extensive repairs!
The Big Boy was purchased in 2019 and I know it hit the floor once, but fortunately it landed squarely on its side without the pilot hitting first, and there was no damage! The interval between it leaving the track and hitting the floor was the longest second in my life I think! I couldn't believe there was no damage. The floor is carpeted, but still... There are so many detail parts on these locomotives, so that if you do any handling at all, which I do, something eventually gets knocked off. |
