It's getting to be that time of year again. Anyone want to speculate as to what the manufactures are going to surprise us with?

They may have something to say about what the Trump tariffs on goods manufactured in China are going to do to retail prices of model railroad materials in the United States.

Dont know where it came from but have bought items for my other hobby, 1/12 trucks from overseas without any duty on them coming in. I called the customs office I think it was SFO and was told there was none on those items and figure it was the same for modle trains too. They each were a littel over 1K.

Last time model trains were under the toys category and exempt.  Probably the same this time.  If not, tack on 20% of the price to your model cost and that's a pretty good guesstimate on how much costs will go up.
