The latest Athearn newsletter promises a brand new locomotive release during Trainfest this year. No idea what it could be but hoping for a SD9 or small steam. Assuming that brand new means not another version of the Big boy....

Another use of an existing mechanism.  Nothing BRAVE   like a P30Ch or Baldwin Centercab or some of the others thoughts.

Why bother announcing anything at all Athearn?
Finish what's been in the pipeline for over two years now, c'mon!

Whatever Athearn anounces it won't be available till mid 2026.

True...don't hold your breath for anything from Athearn.  Waste of time to even order things.  The locos due last month still haven't arrived.  I'm pretty much done with Athearn.

Sounds like Horizon is too...

I really do not understand the 2 year wait issues...thats petty much par for the course with any of these places anymore, especially Rapido.

When I think of the complexity of these new models, two years seems about right.

Got excited about "modern" before remembering that to me, modern is 1976.  The SD60 is kind of the last of the classic EMDs.

Ugh, hopefully the next run will have ditch lights.

The other announcement was for a sixty foot postal car. Interesting, neither announced item made it to their website yet. Except for the video facebook link.
