Model Railroading > New HO CF7 from AtlasDate: 11/23/24 10:07 New HO CF7 from Atlas Author: tracktime According to Atlas' Facebook page, it looks like Atlas Model RR Company has announced a HO Scale CF7 Locomotive as part of its Atlas Master series at Trainfest 2024.
A 3D-printed very preliminary engineering sample of the CF7 was on display, subject to further development and improvement. Also announced was a HO scale beer can tank car, and liveries for their Point St. Charles Caboose. Preliminary samples shown, subject to further improvement. Photo Credits: Atlas Model Railroad Co. More 'rare' shorty tank cars, big yawn. Date: 11/23/24 18:20 Re: New HO CF7 from Atlas Author: Barstool HARRY....Didn't Athearn come out withthe CF7 about six years or more then that , I boght three with different paints chemes that were in service then that, all three run very good.......
Date: 11/23/24 18:44 Re: New HO CF7 from Atlas Author: chitownjeff Athearn did do the CF7 once, it was part of the Rail Power products acquisition, from what I understand the mould wore out/ broke and Athearn didn't seem interested in making a new mould,
there was a speculation few years ago that Athearn was going to do it as a Genesis model but it's hasn't happened Date: 11/23/24 18:48 Re: New HO CF7 from Atlas Author: TomG Even if Athearn did decide to do a Genesis version, Atlas will beat them to the puch by several years. When you see the prices the Railpower/Athearn goes for, this seems like sound business sense and will be a good product.

Came across some on Ebay the other day, an Allegheny and Eastern round cab, an Amtrak, an Iowa Northern and various Santa Fe ones in both round and angled cabs. Posted from Android Edited 2 time(s). Most of the details, trucks, and so on are already in their line-up. My unassembled Athearn and Rail Power parts brought more than I expected in a swap meet several years ago. Bet it spawns a raft of custom decal offerings.

An updated, railroad specific version would be a sweet offering. Low Nose High Nose SP CFOL and other details.I just don't get why they don't do that. Yeah I know the old one is the wrong length but we are talking a re-tool here to current levels of detail. I really like these as they; like the SD35s and SDL39s; are small short 6 axles that can crawl up sharp spurs and still drag along long Haulers worth of trains. Good work a-day layout locos big and small. Plus they are kewl as heck Alcos! C'mon Atlas |
