Kadee announces much needed coupler, the #126
Author: funnelfan

I asked Kadee for a coupler like this many years ago. Lately I've been making good use of the new SBE medium shank couplers on a variety of cars, but really needed a long shank coupler for a whole variety of autoracks, long flatcars, long boxcars, centerbeams, modern reefers, and especially for locomotives with plows. I use magnetic uncouplers and my equipment has the trip pins on the couplers, so locomotives need the long shank couplers to keep attached cars and locomotive trip pins from opening up on the plows when the slack is in. Model Railroad Craftsman magazine was covering the recent Amherst Show where Kadee had a number of surprising announcements. Another was a 50' 50-ton AAR flatcar with optional stake poles like used on some log loads, and side boards used in some MOW applications. There doesn't appear to be much weight on the flatcar which has a fully detailed underframe, and what looks like the underside of the wood deck. No mention of a diecast frame either. There was a variety of G scale couplers too.

I love that they do shelf couplers.   Be carefull as they actually work and your cars will not come apart!   I really wish they would do a passenger service tightlock coupler.

Now if they would only offer their couplers in rust brown so you wouldn't have to paint them.
