Model Railroading > N scale caboose-MT coupler questionDate: 02/28/25 19:07 N scale caboose-MT coupler question Author: bigmc83 I'm trying to convert my son's N scale Model Power bay window caboose to Microtrains using a talgo truck/coupler conversion. This caboose has a shorter wheelbase, thus the coupler need to be extended length. I have not found a decent conversion yet despite trying to interpret the MT website. It is a Model Power #3123 bay window caboose.
Thanks! Sean Date: 02/28/25 22:22 Re: N scale caboose-MT coupler question Author: bearease I don't have any Model Power cabeese, but I found this Con Cor baywindow in my "junk" pile. Is the underframe similar to your MP one?
If so, it looks like the 1002 would work for you. Although it's a bit more work, the other route would be to just body-mount the classic 1023 couplers, and leave the trucks as is. (I'm assuming you've already removed the stock "rapido" couplers) They also have a medium length extended coupler, if the 1002 is too long. Edited 1 time(s).
