Model Railroading > "Through the Rockies, not around them"Date: 03/03/25 00:51 "Through the Rockies, not around them" Author: funnelfan But in the case of the Caldwell Model RR Club in Caldwell, ID...it would be the Bitteroots. Having recently acquired and placed in service a new ScaleTrains DRGW GP40. I decided to have a "Grande Day" at the club last night running a 40 car priority train set for 1980 before mergers had taken their toll on the traffic over the DRGW. Those 40 cars did tax the efforts of the ST GP40 and GP30 as well as the Atlas GP40 I detailed long ago. In fact the Atlas unit was running a bit on the hot side after a low speed crawl up the Helix.

Agree, a little too close to the tracks for comfort if I was the pickup owner! Great looking layout and train. You could hear those engines for miles and miles before they reached you.
