Model Railroading > Mid Morning Action on the East Bay Industrial.Date: 04/15/25 11:22 Mid Morning Action on the East Bay Industrial. Author: ChrisCampi The EBI is a fictional short line that I created that has trackage rights on the SP in the early nineties. They handle switching services and sales for the SP and some former WP customers in the San Francisco east bay between San Leandro and Fremont. The EBI is also a proud sponsor of a local railroad museum. In fact, the EBI often uses their equipment and hires crews that perform museum work. As a result, the motive power is kept in very good shape and much pride is taken in keeping it that way along with much of the ROW.
It's a beautiful spring morning with the light morning fog mostly burned off burned off when we see the museum mechanics working on the brake stand of former ATSF 44 tonner #462 (Rapido) in it's as delivered paint. They, and we as well are treated to an mostly on time southbound Coast Starlight with a surprise leader, meet shortly by a SP general merch heading to Oakland, and lastly we see a EBI local on the heels of the Starlight heading south to get the morning work done. It's all in good fun and a good way to finish off my coffee before heading out to repair the sprinkler system for the hunderdith time. Cheers! Excellent sequence of live trains passing. Nice looking equipment and a good tale of your layout and its purpose. Gerry Date: 04/16/25 18:48 Re: Mid Morning Action on the East Bay Industrial. Author: atsf121 My son and I loved your video Chris. I was telling him that I remember seeing trains like those as a kid at the Suisun, CA depot.
