Thanks. Date: 01/08/06 13:03 Re: Amtrak organization? Author: GBNorman Not likely on-line, but I would dare say they would have to cough it up in response to a duly submitted FOIA request.

Date: 01/08/06 14:59 Re: Amtrak organization? Author: CSXvet Recently I heard an Amtrak consultant describe Amtrak as a work-free drug environment.

I guess with the VP Transportation being let go, a lot of management responsibility is being shifted around. Back to Engineering, one person I was curious about is Michael Franke. I believe his job is listed as senior director of corridor development. However his previous jobs include Chief Engineer at ATSF/BNSF. I was wondering if he was being tapped for any further responsibilities. Date: 01/09/06 00:36 Re: Amtrak organization? Author: Crashela CSXvet Wrote:

The operating crafts at Amtrak, of which I am a member, do plenty of work in drug-free environments. I think I speak for many colleagues, however, that feel management decisions *do* originate from a reality-free thought process, perhaps from said drug environment. Crashela Amtrak. 6 years, one wild ride. Date: 01/09/06 19:23 Re: Amtrak organization? Author: MW4man ts1457 Wrote:

I don't have any direct connections with him, but I've seen stuff. As far as I know he's happy where he is and plans to stay there. Date: 01/10/06 00:00 Re: Amtrak organization? I think Franke is probably happy to stay in the Chicago area. Maybe that is why he did not stay with BNSF. Incidently he was with CSS&SB and N&W/NS before he went to ATSF. Last month. we had a thread about the possibility of a dedicated passenger route south of Lake Michigan. Some TO posters thought that South Shore should be used for the route. Knowing Mike's thoughts on that would be interesting. I'm thinking it might be worthwhile to try contacting him to find out what is going on with the south of the lake reroute study. |
