Great work! Would love to see other videos you have with the drone. BTW, what model are you using?

Thanks!

Now that's the way to use a drone!   Close enough to be a normal vantagepoint, and then showing the landscape.    In most drone shots the train is overwhelmed by the scenery.  Great job!

Exceptional.  Well done, well-planned.  One of the best rail videos I've seen!

Neat video thanks for posting
Is there no electricity to the aspects?  when I have visited I guesss I have seen early morn light , or just sunshine thru the globes giving the appearance that they were lighted,  is this correct?

I assume they at one time were lighted.  what happens at night?

Well done! You've got a steady hand. I was wondering what perch you were on until your drone rose after the train passed. That was really good. I would love to spend time out there. I made a couple of photos of Amtrak in the pass just east (north) of Raton in '96 and rode the head end on #3 from La Junta to Raton in 2008, but would really like to spend some time lineside. That line has to be endangered and semaphores and PTC probably don't mix. Keep up the great work.

Never seen a working semaphore in action.
How many are remaining on US mainlines?
Thanks for sharing.

It's lit but not brightly as seen from the position of the drone. Take a close look as it drops from green to yellow at 0:15"  It's likely it has focused lenses that direct light down the track.

I don't recall semaphores that looked lit during the day. I don;t think they used a focused lense like other kinds of signals; you just had to rely on the blade position during the day.

None on US freight mainlines. The ones on the Raton Sub are on a BNSF line currently used only by Amtrak. More discussion at this link:
