Fire Anderson T shirts?
Author: Flyer92122

All ready for our 5 night train trip over the holidays. Bought a bunch of different Amtrak onesies for my daughter on the Amtrak store clearance page. Going along with that theme is anyone still selling the fire Anderson shirts? I’d be happy to wear one on a packed SWC 12/23.

Now that sounds like a mature thing to do.

While on an Empire Builder trip in September, we met a fellow passenger who had one of the shirts on. He earned a few brownie points from some of the crew!

The anger needs to be directed not just at Anderson, but also the Board of Directors (especially Gardner).

Agreed but it’s a good way to get the word out to the layman with a simple “call your elected official if you want to keep riding this train”. A conversation starter nothing else.

This simply blows me away, Anderson and Gardner are doing everything possible to sustain passenger rail. Reducing expenses, growing revenues, making wise capital investments for the future, consolidating facilities, etc. Is this a passenger rail forum or a nostalgia forum?

Yes, if you run no trains at all  there will be a huge cost savings. Imagine AMTRAK with no associated negative
aspects such as expenses.

Sustain it with bus bridges ?
Growing revenues heh ? Taken a look at load factors, especially sleepers on the Capitol Ltd and Lake Shore lately ? How long are the waits for a human to be at the call center post January 18 ?
Where are the CAF cars ?
How's the order for Amfleet replacement and Superline-III's coming along ?

Most of those questions deal with the long distance train operations, which Gardner and Anderson are doing their best to kill. The Amfleet replacement focuses on corridor growth, which is the only major thing these two seem interested in, but "some talk" on this but no real major action or we would be seeing increased frequencies or new corridor routes emerging, of which I see none of.

Where are you from, The Twilight Zone? 1, the Private Car Scenario is what started all Hell to Break loose besides the retirement of the PPCs, threatining to splitting the Chief, downgrading food service on the Capitol an dLake Shore, canceling trains because of snow (except for No. 5 and No. 6 back in March) and you're saying they're improving Amtrak? That's a joke!
