This is probably small potatoes compared to what else is going on inside that railroad we never hear about.

Was it an Amtrak manager running the train that had the Red Block violation (and almost a head-on collision with an opposing Amtrak train) at Ozol last Wednesday?

Reason I ask is 'cause I heard that the "San Joaquins" are being run by managers due to the "Merced issue," although I also heard that one "San Joaquin" turns actually has an engineer - I think he's a supporter of Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Unhappily, no. Although on at least one occasion there was one manager piloting another via cell phone while both were operating locomotives.

It's since been 'splained to me that it wasn't a manager, and why.
