Thanks, Mr. J! You're quick on the mouse down Macon way.

Amazing that Arnold doesn't want to release funds for new equipment...no more trains until California gets more cars.

The Capitol Corridor service is excellent, so I'm not surprised to see ridership continuing to grow. The cars are always clean, and they usually run right on-time. Even the food in the cafe car is pretty decent. And I always get a kick out of running down the middle of the street at Jack London Square.

I don't see anything on rail in this article, but Arnold does seem to have a lot of smoke and mirrors around himself:

Maybe Arnold just doesn't get it.

There's nobody on those trains. They're mostly empty.

Some of them are pretty empty on the weekends south of Oakland. Between Sacramento and Martinez, maybe Oakland they are very nicely occupied, not too many, not too few... Quite a few folks transfer at Martinez to the Valley train.
Very happy with the way this train performs.

Maybe north of San Jose? The Cap's don't run south of SJC (yet!), so I think you're talking about the run between SJC and OKJ.

Oops, make that south of Oakland. That's a bad one I better edit it.

These trains are heavy out of Oakland most of the time. San Jose is a little weak, but they handle a pretty good load since we sit next to them sometime on the platform. The fact is, people are getting back in taking the train again and once they do, they enjoy it. hey, it is fun for the kids.

Lighten up!

And, this post is not about the San Joaquin trains. It is about the Capitol trains.

Long live LDTs...down with corridors and HSR...as many on this board might say.

In the meantime, the Reindeer is off to Iceland to ride their rail system. I'll give a full report on my return.

Glad the Captiols are doing well, and the way I see it, have the LDTs and Corridors full bore, you have to have one to be succesful with the other!
