LRC fans, where are you?
Author: Roomette-12

I posted this the other day on the western board, but I guess I have the jury stumped, so I will run it here and see what happens. The other day I found a MLW LRC locomotive just north of Fort Worth here inside a company called StyroChem. This is a very active facility and the unit is certainly in the way of there daily operations, yet it has been there for at the least several days. The facility it is located in is off the UP. DOTX 218 is stenciled on the side and the engine compartment is completely gutted. This is a mystery to me and any help or information would help shed light on this mystery. Sorry for the lighting, sun was on the private property side of the unit.

DOTX may indicate the hulk is destined for AAR test center in Pueblo for crash managment.

DOTX = USDOT/Federal Railroad Administration

Ironic.....the unit ran its entire life on Crash National, and ends up at the National Crash Center!

Either a crash test dummy or a Haz Mat test unit

I suspect it is coming from DOT not going to, Ft. Worth is not exactly on the way to Pueblo from Canada and it has been on a private siding for a couple of weeks...

I believe it came from down south after removal of ALCO prime mover for off shore industry.
most stuff going to pueblo only leaves in a scrap gondola.
