The officer is responsible for the dog's poop. What type of cop would allow this to happen??? I have to say that I hope this isn't true, or at least, the story has been exaggerated in some way. But if it's exactly true as reported, ummmm.......that officer is in trouble. The worst I ever experienced was helping on a search of the home located next-door to where MC Hammer used to live----gorgeous, huge, beautiful homes in that area (East Bay foothills of San Francisco Bay Area). It was a request from another department to use our K9 and a few extra officers due to the nature of the incident, and our K9 left a big "package" on the very expensive, very white living room carpet. We did what we could to clean it up right there on the spot, but the City ended up paying a professional carpet cleaner to take care of the rest of it----along with a letter of apology from the Chief.

Any officer who goes through the extensive process of K9 training knows that animals will be animals, that's why I'm a little gun-shy of this story being completely accurate. But like I said, if it is accurate, then wow......

When I was at the Metropolitan Opera in New York last October watching a performance of Aida, one of the horses in the Triumphal scene (yes, they used live animals on the stage) "evacuated" itself while marching past the Pharoh. The cast did it's best to avoid the mess until a stage hand (presumably, or maybe an animal wrangler), could crawl out, in costume, with a dust pan and bucket to clean it up while hiding behind the cast. It was a great hoot that elicited quite a few giggles and laughs. They should have brought the guy out for a curtain call. He would have gotten a standing ovation.

Yeah, if the cop knew his dog was sick and couldn't control it's bowels, he had no business taking it on the train. Was this actually an Amtrak cop or a TSA type? I would be more inclined to believe those kinds of actions coming from the TSA.

Anyway, I think I would discount this story.

BTW, what's a RFMN?

You are all missing Gene's point--

What was the gender of the dog?

Amtrak thought they were employing a bomb-sniffing dog, but got a bomb-dropping dog instead. Figures!
