Passenger Trains > Yesterdays FrontRunner rideDate: 07/26/08 13:55 Yesterdays FrontRunner ride Author: MrOGDEN Hello TO members,
Yesterday I finally decided to ride UTA's new commuter rail between Salt Lake and Ogden, I couldn't believe what I was in for, The was a little bit over powered, two MP36's 1/9 and three cars, I thought I would never see that day. Then on the ride I saw two switchers in North yard, one ex USS, the other a SW1001 in G&W paint, two GP9s and a SW1200 at the refinerys, then two 70 ton loco's at Durbano. Another note, I a seen some ex NJT cars now painted up in UTA. The ride, I really like it, I'll do it again real soon. Anyway, I also seem to remember the Desert Wind hauled ass on that segment. How is the running time for the commuter train?

They give it an hour, I believe that there is 5 stops along the way, all new right of way too, a pedestrian bridge at "Farmington", I'll get off there on one of my next trips, and take some shots.
