Passenger Trains > Yesterday's Coast Starlight meet on Tehachapi detourDate: 01/27/09 16:14 Yesterday's Coast Starlight meet on Tehachapi detour Author: IC_2024 Just enough time to post one of my shots of yesterday's Coast Starlight detours and can't say enough about this serendipitous journey--one of the best I've ever had!
And...for the cherry on the sundae, snowy Tehachapi Mt's. just can't be beat--not to mention all of those wonderful Joshua trees in the Mojave desert. We got quite a kick out of the fans chasing the train as well--pics of that to follow sometime tomorrow--stay tuned to identify yourself! P.S. Thanks, AJ, for the quick eye so I could capture the meet at Cliff ;) Date: 01/27/09 16:33 Re: Yesterday's Coast Starlight meet on Tehachapi detou Author: DavidP Great picture...thanks for posting!

Good to see you and AJ taking some time off together. I swear, it's like I see/hear you and Crazy Ray working out there every day (including weekends). ~~~ Date: 01/28/09 08:42 Re: Yesterday's Coast Starlight meet on Tehachapi detou Author: fjc Nice Mark, thanks for sharing.
All the times folks talked about Amtrak of Tehachapi and here we have it, how many times now? Not a regular thing, but nice to see the UP working with Amtrak on the detour. So am I correct in saying that every detour in 2008/2009 met at different locations? From the top of my head, I recall Caliente (June), Woodford (10/26, detour I rode), Walong, Edison (Sunday),and Cliff. I think there was Rowen and Marcel, too? Thanks for the post great images, timing is everything

Thanks for the atta-boy's, guys... and girls (if AJ or any other ladies out there see this!). My schedule's like the old RGZ book, "Never on Wednesday." Date: 01/28/09 13:48 Re: Yesterday's Coast Starlight meet on Tehachapi detou Author: IC_2024 fjc Wrote:

Ah, this explains why Klinky-Dink has made some "prime time" appearances on the Cal-P these last couple days. Seems Big Harv and him have an equally cool relationship (as does TKH and MJ) for that afternoon EB CapCorr slot. ~~~ |
