Passenger Trains > Amtrak 1092

The Amtrak Status Map site is showing an Amtrak 1092 today. Is this a stub 92 or a bus filling in for the 'real' Amtrak 92? It is also running much earlier then 92, but is showing as being late.

Thanks. I found it.

Read that Amtrak website. Its a service issue and they are busing 92's passengers to Lakeland and Tampa because the train wont be stopping there.




Service Alert: Northbound Silver Star Train 92 — Schedule Change and Motorcoach Service to and from Tampa and Lakeland

Beginning March 2 through April 9, northbound Train 92 will operate according to an adjusted schedule, due to track work being performed by CSX Transportation. During this period, the schedules shown on Amtrak.com replace those published in the printed copy of the Amtrak Fall 2008 - Winter 2009 System Timetable.

Tampa and Lakeland Motorcoach Service

On Monday through Thursday of each week beginning March 16 through April 9, Train 92 will not stop at Tampa and Lakeland. Passengers will be provided motorcoach service to and from those two stations.

I just went looking for this schedule change on Amtrak's site and could not find it. Anyway, so 1092 is just 92 without the west leg to Tampa on these days. This would explain the earlier schedule north of the point where it heads west/back east.

Interesting. However, I don't like the fact that New England and New York aren't included.

Yes they are. Just click northeast and you will see everything in that area. As far as I can tell the only thing not included is southern California such as Surfliners.
