Passenger Trains > Metrolink's new cars going to be delivered on time?

Will Metrolink's new passenger cars arrive early next year as planned or will they be delayed? I would have figured we would have seen some glimpses of them by now as traditionally new designs go to the AAR testing facility in Colorado.

The cars are past due now. Latest that I hear, first one should be on a ship any day now.

Last I heard (Thinking it was in October) the first one should be coming OFF the ship any day now, but they aren't going to be completed, the final assembly will be done at EMF, which will need to be completed before anything can be done with the cars anyway.

(EMF = Eastern Maintainance Facility, Metrolink's new yard being built just off of the BNSF San Bernardino Sub at Rana)

IIRC there will be a cycle of testing before the main body of the production run is begun.

Forgot to mention, the cars' original initial delivery date was May 2009...

check railnews.net they have a story on these cars today which says the news cars will be arriving in January (no pictures, however).

And they're tryin' to cut certain train frequencies with all this? Give me a break!
