Passenger Trains > #14/22dec in the toilet?

Anyone hear what happened to #14....20 late out of Chico to an ETA into KFS over 5 hours late...??

Seems the hold-up was at the Redding station, where it arrived at 3:28am but did not depart until 6:04am.

Rumor is an already late #11 struck a tree north of redding and sustained some damage, and stopped rail traffic on the line, and #14 held at Redding before continuing, and as we all know, it rolls downhill.

#11 is running over 7 hours late.

It's amazing how delays like this always seem to happen every year to #11/14 on the busiest holiday travel days when the trains are sold out.

Just took a peek at the UP site....#11 8'50" late at Redding...yup tis the season... #14 6'11" at Dunsmuir

The late #11 has the two California Zephyr railcars on the rear (Silver Lariat and Silver Solarium). Should have 4 locomotives up front as well. Good photo catch for someone.

Just saw that. How many feet in diameter did he say that tree was? Seven or eight feet?

I just spent the afternoon is sight of downtown Seattle stuck on I-5. Several miles of stop, stop, stop and go. While stuck there, three ambulances, two fire trucks, two highway response vehicles, and at least seven tow trucks passed. By the time I inched past the location only one vehicle remained and ambulances gone. The Cascades would have been a better trip to Seattle.
