Another boondoggle. If they hope to gain back the Indian Casino crowd the terminus needs to be down the hill (Cajon) somewhere in the inland empire (say the Fontana racetrack parking lot)and to keep the diehard Vegas fans from clogging the I15 over Cajon.

Developers of the DesertXpress train to Las Vegas have released a model of the planned Victorville station, which includes one parking spot for every seventh person in town and a platform nearly the length of three football fields.

Planning for lots of passengers and long trains obviously. Wonder what the locals think about the traffic and congestion if this actually comes to pass.

This will do great. They have the money and the blessing of the state of ca every person in the nv state gov is jumping off the mag lev idea and on to this. They start to break ground in 3 months. This is 100%going to happen.

Will they be building a new station in LV? If so, where?

I think they're still trying to figure that one out. It would be so great if they could have the station near the Strip, and NOT in ugly/low-life downtown where the old Amtrak station was located. It seems like there is some room along the ROW near the Rio Hotel, but I don't know who owns it. But if they could put it adjacent to the Strip, with shuttle buses taking people across I-15 and dump people right ON the Strip, I would think that casino owners would be happy. Of course, MGM-Mirage owns the east side of the Strip, and Harrah's sort of owns the west side of the Strip....so they might argue whether to dump east or west. LOL!

It be nice if they lay some track in the middle of the strip for street running in LV.... NOT!

Will the Victorville station be shared with AMTK?
