Interesting discussion last month: http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?4,2172902 I don't know about that dude, but this dude has, #6 and #14 last weekend, and I overheard these phrases from passengers while in the diner: "On time performance has improved." "The food is better." I had the Herb Roasted Half Chicken and ate it to the bone, and my favorite, Bison Chipotle Meatloaf was still the dinner special on #6. If not for the HEP problems while trying to detach UP Business Cars Sunset and Stanford at Oakland Jack London Square, #14 would not have been 30 minutes late into Sacramento. #6 was on time on my portion of the trip to Reno, and arrived early into Sacramento, so I got to see it from the I St. & Jibboom St. overpass before I rode it. Sad that judges had such poor taste. Date: 05/12/10 10:30 Re: Amtrak video contest winner - really? Author: BaltoJoey That video was so lame. UGH!!
BaltoJoey Date: 05/12/10 10:48 Re: Amtrak video contest winner - really? Author: zuco74 Oh wow... That video is awful !! At first it sounded like he was going for a "bob dylan" type of sound with his singing. Then in the middle when the "Vocoder" effect comes in on his voice - well that just takes the cake.
Surely there must have been some better videos submitted. Tony EDIT: Went back and watched the 2nd place video and that one was so much better. Well done ! Edited 2 time(s). Either way, this one should've been thrown out the window. The 2nd Place winner is better on every level.

A pic of a conductor appears. Tony Date: 05/12/10 22:50 Re: Amtrak video contest winner - really? Author: bnsfsd70 Wow. That was pretty terrible, and I'm 28, so its not an age issue.

The winner put a lot of work into his concept and execution, taking a chance to do something different. The runner-up took a more conventional approach, but will well-executed just the same. Thumbs up for both entries. Danny Hrmon Tampa www.youtube.com/distantsignal |
