I am surprised, with their recent overhauls, they haven't eradicated that silly livery of turquoise and blue blobs on their sides. I think passenger equipment looks better with bold horizontal stripes and features, especially on bland looking vehicles such as these. They look like they were shrink wrapped, and 90% of it pealed off.

The stupid blobs looked like they were thought up by someone on a drug trip. David Gunn, who did not do drugs, had them removed from the Amfleets, but not the Acelas.

Had no idea these sets had knuckle couplers, sound like a pretty good idea. How about the airbrake system? TGV based? or AAR based?

Only under the nose shrouds of the locomotives, of course. To clarify, in case there's any confusion, the cars within the trainset are semi-permanently attached with drawbars.

Picture worth 1,000 words dept.

Knuckle-coupler close ups, and with shroud in place.
