The Daylight trucks added yet another bolster to the frame, allowing a smooth ride but magnifying the heck out of maintenance. The only ones you'll ever see of that type on the rail are in museums. I would say a "Pimera" coach, maybe SBC.
Date: 02/03/11 20:18 Re: Kinki-Sharyo coach Author: SBC_1344 First generation was built in 70's for:
-FCP -SBC -CHP -FUS -NdeM Then were the last generation cars built in 1987-1989 for FNM. Most of these coaches were for lines 100KPH+ and for intercity quality service. The first class coaches "PRIMERA ESPECIAL" had diesel generators, reclinable large seats and air conditioning. This pic is from 1987 second generations "Primera Especial", business class Kinki-Sharyo/CNCF Japanese coaches built new for FNM, now on service in FXE. The first generation were built in Japan directly and taken by ship to Mexico. This type of coach uses trucks that are based on the Japanese Shinkansen, I believe. This is a coach now owned by FXE for service on the Chihuahua-Pacifico line. FXE's "Chepe" uses FNM's Primeras as coaches and the new primeras are refurbished interiors of older coaches. After FNM ended in 2000. These coaches were transferred to SDNX (SEDENA/Mexican military) for troop transportation. Others were sold to Ferromex for Chepe, Tequila Express, their business train. A couple were sent to museums, private owners, etc... Hector M. Gonzalez Guadalajara, JAL, MX |
