Brookville Equipment Co new passenger locomotives
Author: Macster

I'm surprised I didn't see this (and yes, I used the search too) and came across this via Facebook (Thanks Mike!) that Brookville Equipment Co has won the order for Tri-Rail and Sound Transit locomotives.

BL36PH, looks like an F59/MP36 but shorter. Hard to tell in the drawing..

Railfan & Railroad has a picture of the prototype in the current edition. Nice looking units.

I do love the fact that they're building this... but the first thing that popped into my head was "it's a Pinewood Derby" entrant.

I do wish (we all probably wish) some manufacturer would take a look at the C-Liner, PA, E-Unit, and the Shark and come up with something modern like them - sort of like how the new Challenger looks like the 1971 Challenger.

Detroitn Diesel. These MTU engines were once under the hood of the PHL rebuilt SD40's, although now I forgot what they were called.

MTU and Detroit Diesel are both subsidiaries of the German company Tognum AG.
