449 Today on The Castleton Bridge

(1) View north from the Castleton Bridge of the New York State Thruway Extension (to Mass) above and New York Central mainline to Rensselaer below.
(2) View south from the Castleton Bridge looking south toward NYC.
(3) View south from the Castleton Bridge looking southeast toward NYC and Route 9J.

(4) Crossing the New York Central mainline on the Castleton cutoff looking north toward Rensselaer.
(5) The Castleton Bridge as seen from 449 heading north; and
(6) 49 arriving into Rensselaer.

(7) and (8) Passing 448 west of Niverville and North Chatham after having pulled onto the Post Road branch
(9) Looking south toward the Post Road branch from the Rensselaer station (leftmost track with equipment on it).

Note several trucks and other heavy machinery were visible through the trees at the grade level of the Post Road Branch (where the washout had occurred) when we passed this site heading north on the New York Central mainline a few hundred meters to the west and about four miles south of the Rensselaer station.)

And don't forget, you're looking at 110mph trackage in the scenes taken from the bridge!
