Passenger Trains > Late trains get later...#5/18

#5/18 left Glenwood Springs, CO, 2:26 late, and the last I knew it was resting on the siding at Rifle, 30 miles west, having tripped a DED abt 5 miles east of town. Something was hanging from the baggage car, apparently. They got it wired up and proceeded to Rifle at less than 10 mph, where the last I knew they were waiting for UP mechanical people from Grand Junction to help AMTK decide whether the car could run at track speed or needed to be set out. There's a steep ridge right behind my house between here and there so I've heard very little I could figure out since they were just east of Rifle.

EDIT: Departed GJT 3:19 late, so not anywhere near as bad as it could have been. I have no idea how the situation was resolved.
