Passenger Trains > Lateness is Bliss (for a railfan)

Would you get out of bed short rested, and drive 90 some miles for ONE shot??? Is it worth the effort???

My only defense is that I've never shot a train under this cantilever signal before...

1. Amtrak 137 on train #4 very late at Eudora, KS on September 2, 2011.

(Thanks for putting a 3rd lane in on the Kansas Turnpike between Topeka & Lawrence!)

good shot. i checked out this location from the eye in the sky and that spur off the main is barely visible in your pic and i missed it the first time i viewed it. you would never guess that the train is less than 50 feet from a river at that location. thanks for making the effort. dave, out.

I'd say it was worth it, and you got Amtrak 184 as the 2nd unit to boot.

It WAS worth the effort and you got a great photo! I drove 200 miles once to take 4 pictures so you're not alone there!

I knew I wasn't alone for this type of situation, but sometimes it's kinda fun to poke a little self deprication back in my OWN face. It keeps me aware that 99.99% of the other people think we're all a bunch of nuts anyway...
