Thanks to the heads up from here and also on headsupnorcal, I had something to wake up early for this morning, a Coast Starlight with no P42DC's. Here's a video of the quick chase, at Rodeo (railroad east from Pinole and Hercules) and Emeryville.

You might notice that the video might skip frames - I found a tool to transfer video from my video camera via USB instead of FireWire, since my Netbook only has USB ports, and this is the trade off.

Wow, talk about three mis-matched locomotives. It's almost like the rainbow era, circa 2012.
