At least it was amazing to me!!

We stayed there in a room on the twentieth floor facing the NOUPT platforms and the Super Dome quite a few years ago. Every morning at 7:30 a.m. we could hear the locomotive bell when the Crescent departed.

We were also treated to an absolutely amazing thunderstorm one evening. The lightning show listed about two hours.

The excellent Herbsaint Restaurant is a few blocks away, an easy cab ride. I don't think I'd walk even that short distance at night, though.

The original Emeril's is a block or two past that

It's nice to hear the Hyatt in NOL is back in business. We stayed thre in 2004. Frankly it was showing it's age. When I saw it after Katrina I figured it was a goner.

I believe many odd numbered rooms face the superdome and the union train depot. That would be consistent with where TG stayed.

The even numbered rooms face the French Quarter, the River, etc.

My room did indeed face the Superdome and the train station. And, I got there on a train; and, I left on a train. And, it was because the hotel is near the station that I chose to stay there!! Having a great time now on the Sunset Limited... right now in El Paso!
