Passenger Trains > SEPTA Silverliner II and III: their final week

1963 Budd SL II (Reading) 9010 and 1967 Saint Louis Car SL III (PRR) 235 are working the Cynwyd schedule this week (Tuesday through Friday) if they don't break down sooner. They will be retired Friday night. The Cynwyd (Kin-wood) schedule calls for single cars, so it's logical to use the last SL II and the last SL III on that line.

Last time I was upstairs at 30th St, it was all MP-54s, and when a long train of them stopped, you could feel the platform move slightly (and 15th St was still a dead-end).

Didn't think I'd ever miss those old warhorses

Along the Cynwyd route, it appears the route splits from the Harrisburg line
and one track goes over a bridge while the other goes under the line.

Which route does SEPTA use? Both, either or? Did I hear the bridge is due
to be removed sometime soon?

The car to Cynwyd goes over the 52nd Street viaduct.

Currently, SEPTA uses both routes - bridge to Cynwyd, and tunnel to Center City.
