Thanks for posting this information.

It's a shame they can't get the Meadowlands stadium train station in the mix. There's an enormous amount of parking at the stadium, and the area is already being used as a staging area for Port Authority express bus and Weehawken ferry bus services.

Wow, M&E still wiped out.

No there will be limited service on the M&E line from Dover, and NJT also says limited mid-town direct service from Dover to NYP as well.. No service on the Gladstone line or the Montclair- Boonton lines....

Gladstone Line was a real mess last week. Several trees fouling the wires btw Lyons and Bernardsville, some washouts in difficult to access by road areas, etc.

There were several high rails, etc in operation, but it looks like a lot of work out there.

No service from M&E to Hoboken either. Only Midtown Direct Service for now.

Apparently service on the M&E is slow going this morning.

One early train broke down at Summit, and was relieved by an already late train which made it into NYP 120 minutes late.

I'm guessing there are probably six sets of electric equipment trapped in Gladstone, and another five electric sets at Great Notch. I think that's the usual weekend layover number.

They are also having a few residual catenary problems. I saw a couple of ALP-46 hauled MLV sets being towed across between Summit and Millburn by diesel, though the ALP had its panto up.

BTW, the recovery map has now been fixed by NJT reflecting the M&E Service that is currently operational, i.e. Midtown Direct between Dover/Summit and New york Penn.

NJ Transit hints that some of the Montclair Boonton line may be back in service "this week"

The North Jersey Coast Line might be partly back in service "within a week or two". No details.

The Gladstone branch had washouts?? That's very surprising - Sandy wasn't a big rain event in northern New Jersey, and the branch is nowhere near the coast. Any idea of the circumstances surrounding these washouts?

I'm just going by what I've heard on the washouts. I saw the high rail trucks and trees in the wires near Basking Ridge the other day.

IF there were washouts, my guess at culprits would be the stream by Peapack station, and the stream between Min Brook (!) and Bernardsville. I haven't seen any stone cars headed out that way, which leads me to believe the report was incorrect or over stated.
