Yes, it is clearly a NYC car; the ceiling air duct grille is a dead giveaway. I ate on one of Amtrak's ex-NYC 1948 diners on the Lake Shore last month, which was readily identifiable by the same grille work. It was a pleasure to enjoy a good breakfast on the Water Level Route in such an historic car.
