Great Dome 1394 Prairie View
Author: eee

Another heritage dome released from the Iowa Pacific shop in Alamosa, this is former Great Northern 1394, restored to its Empire Builder livery. Color numbers are historically correct, but yes, it looks more green than the cars did in later years. This car is in Lubbock for the West Texas and Lubbock Polar Express. Thanks for the photos, Bruce.

Great colors on a passenger train, is there going to be anymore painted in the Great Northern scheme?

Not to "grouse" but at this point in time/history any piece of equipment that can be saved/preserved is a good save!! If it's not quite perfect, it's better than nothing. IMHO if the color or brake cylinder or something is not just quite right, well, we could always fix it later. Just my opinion. :->

Coupled next to a pair of ex-LIRR C-1 bi-level cars.

When was the last regular revenue service to serve this location?

Great photos - thank you for sharing!
